Shawsville Middle School has teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest VA to bring back the Boys and Girls Club activities from past years.

Boys and Girls Club will run after school on full school days from 3:00-6:00 Monday through Friday. A snack will be provided at 3:00 pm. Power Hour for homework help with the focus on reading and math for all participants will begin each day from 3:15-4:15. A whole group academic focus topic will be presented from 4:15-4:45 each day. Starting at 4:45-6:00 recreational activities are planned that will encourage movement and physical activity.

MCPS will provide transportation for all after-school activities. The buses will leave SMS at 5:00 pm each day. There will be consolidated stops for students to connect with their parents. The stops will remain the same from last year. One bus will travel to Elliston and North Fork Road while the second bus will travel through Shawsville and out Alleghany Springs Road.
